Lorenzo Gallese
Sous Chef
Being born and raised in Queens, NY afforded Lorenzo Gallese experiences that can't be found anywhere else. He attended Aviation HS in LIC where he took an Aviation Maintenance shop program. It was fun for the first 2 years, but Lorenzo knew it wasn't for him. Thankfully, in his senior year, they allowed students to drop the shop program and attend a different class in a different school. He decided on taking a culinary class, and after that, it was a wrap for him. He was able to get his first job through the class as a prep cook at McCormick and Schmick's. He attended BMCC at the same time and eventually dropped out to continue working in restaurants. After some time, he ended up working at Brushstroke, a 1 Michelin star restaurant, where he fell in love with Japanese cuisine. His love for Asian cuisine has grown since then.
Lorenzo used to spend most of his free time playing NYC handball, but now it's mostly occupied by Netflix. He likes going out with friends when he can, for whatever reason, be it going out for food or some type of activity. He's been skydiving a handful of times, and he plans to get his license so he can go solo. He really wants to travel around the world and hopes to go backpacking one day. His top places he wants to travel to are Japan, South Korea, and Thailand, and he would love the chance to one day work in one of those countries.
